do something remarkable

{John Green Quote}  Lately I feel as if my life is approaching a crossroads and I know there will come a day when a decision will need to be made.  I came across this quote recently and it spoke to me loud and clear.  It’s time to stop just living and do something remarkable. In life there are many aspects that can become routine… maybe its your professional work life, the way your interact with your friends, your love life,… Read more »

Alexia Admor Peplum Flare Dress, BCBG Shoes

Saturday night I had my first experience at the opera.  My love and I went to The Met, to see an english production of the German opera, Die Fledermaus and I have to say it was everything I had always dreamed the opera would be, but also surprised me at the same time. Magically, enchanting, captivating… these are the words I would use to describe the experience, all of which I expected, but that part that surprised me what the fact… Read more »

green juice recipe .001

Today, I’m sharing with you another quick and easy green juice recipe. This one is pretty basic and is very similar to a traditional green juice (spinach, apple, cucumber) but with pear instead. Adding pear makes this juice not quite as sweet as it’s apple counterpart. For those of you that think green juice can be too sweet, then this is the recipe for you. Ingredients:  2 handfuls of spinach 1 pear 1/2 large cucumber 1 lemon (peeled, keeping as much… Read more »

black and white stripes, sequin bomber jacket, leather pencil skirt, leopard pumps

This weekend in NYC, showed us that Spring was right around the corner. Of course today, the temps have dropped and we might get a little snow tomorrow, but this weekend gave us hope.  B+W has been a go-to for me, for as long as I can remember. This outfit is my version of t-shirt and jeans, meaning I wear it all the time. The bottoms fluctuates between, boyfriend jeans, dark skinnies, black leather jeans, or a skirt (as shown… Read more »

What a week this has been for me! I had the most amazing experience the last two days, that I can’t wait to share with you.  But for now, join me in a little wanderlust and explore the Eiffel Tower through my eyes.  Just watching it takes me back to this magically moment and I couldn’t help but share with you. This weekend my love (he makes a few cameos in the video above) and I will be attending the… Read more »

camel coat, army pants, printed scarf, shawlsmith london

Today’s outfit is how I like to do casual.  At the core, this outfit is simple… jeans and a t-shirt, layered with a cardigan and coat. However the printed scarf and cranberry red suede pumps, give this outfit a much-needed lift, while still maintaining the causal feel. Do you remember, back in November, when I first wore a Shawlsmith London scarf?  Funny enough, also paired with this heels…totally unplanned.  Well since then, I received the one pictured today, as a… Read more »

crostini + empanada .001

A few weeks back, we made these two appetizers for a Super Bowl party that we attended, along with the Guava Mozzarella Empanadas I shared a few weeks ago.  I wanted to make something Puerto Rican, but with a twist (insert brainstorming sessions here).  The empanadas were an easy addition to the menu, having already made a sweet version, adding a savory option felt appropriate. We went with a traditional picadillo filling, but with ground turkey instead of beef. Now… Read more »

neon blazer, striped body suit, oversized sunglasses

Let’s talk neon.  While you won’t catch me pairing multiply neon pieces together in one outfit, I’m not quite ready to let go of this trend.  Neon jeans… let’s be honest, it’s time to retire them, but a neon structured blazer, I’m not quite ready to part with just yet.  Especially when paired with the simply chic combination of black + white. My opinion, keep your neon (for now), but only the structured, quality pieces.  Pair them with black +… Read more »

Weekend Browse 2.3

I hope your weekend is off to a great start!  It’s a three-day weekend for me and my love and I had planned to spend it in Vermont, with friends, hitting the slopes, however life happened and plans had to change (more on that later).  While Vermont would have been a nice change of scenery, I have decided to welcome this unplanned staycation with open arms.  So not that our plans have changed, we’re making the best of it… Read more »
